Vaginitis Causes
There are five kinds of vaginitis. They include bacterial, yeast, trichomoniasis, noninfectious, and genitourinary syndrome of menopause (also known as vaginal atrophy.) Each of these types of vaginitis is caused by something different.

What is Vaginitis?
Vaginitis is common medical issue that can develop in females of all ages. In fact, approximately one-third of all women will experience vaginitis during their lifetime. Vaginitis can be either bacterial or viral. Symptoms of Vaginitis are very similar to Vulvodynia, which include itching burning, pain with urination and discharge.
What is Atrophic Vaginitis?
In addition to bacterial and viral vaginitis, some women may develop atrophic vaginitis. Atrophic vaginitis is the drying and thinning of the inner walls of the vagina. This type of vaginitis is most prevalent in women who are going through menopause or have low levels of estrogen.
What Causes Vaginitis?
Vaginitis is caused by many things. A change in the pH level within the vagina can cause bacteria overgrowth. This ultimately leads to inflammation within the vagina.
